XII INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON ANALYTICAL NANOSCIENCE AND NANOTECHNOLOGY

2 – 5 june 2026, Oviedo (Spain)

INVITATION LETTER

Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the upcoming XII edition of the International Congress on Analytical Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (NyNA2026), to be held in the vibrant city of Oviedo (Spain) from 2nd to 5th of June 2026, organised by the Nanobioanalysis group of the University of Oviedo.

This year’s congress brings together international experts to share cutting-edge research, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and explore the future of the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology applied to Analytical Chemistry under the following topics:

  • I. Analytical nanometrology
  • II. Applied analytical strategies involving nanomaterials
  • III. Detection, characterization, and quantification of nanomaterials
  • IV. Nano(bio)sensors
  • V. Nanomaterials for sample preparation
  • VI. Nanotoxicology and risk assessment
  • VII. Other nanotechnological applications and miniaturized nanosystems

With a rich program featuring plenary/invited lectures, oral and poster presentations, we aim to create a dynamic and inspiring environment for learning and exchange.

We are especially proud to welcome our plenary/invited speakers, whose contributions have shaped the landscape of our field, and we look forward to the lively discussions their insights will spark.

We are confident that your participation will enrich the scientific program and contribute meaningfully to the exchange of ideas and knowledge. Whether you are presenting your work, attending sessions, or engaging with peers, we hope you will find the congress both intellectually stimulating and professionally rewarding.

Beyond the academic sessions, we hope delegates will take time to enjoy the cultural and historical charm of Oviedo, and to build lasting connections with fellow participants.

Please visit our official website (www.nyna2026.com) for detailed information on topics, registration, abstract submission and accommodation.

We look forward to welcoming you to Oviedo and sharing an unforgettable experience in the spirit of scientific excellence and collaboration.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CONGRESS

The Journey of NyNA: From Workshop to International Congress

The International Congress on Analytical Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (NyNA) has its roots in a visionary initiative led by Prof. Miguel Valcárcel and the FQM-215 research group. The first edition took place in Córdoba, Spain, in July 2007, conceived not as a traditional congress, but as a collaborative workshop focused on open dialogue and strategic thinking.

This inaugural meeting was built around four key goals:

  • Assess the role of nanostructures in Chemistry, especially Analytical Chemistry
  • Define future research directions in this rapidly evolving field
  • Create a stable and productive network for information exchange among research groups
  • Encourage collaboration among Spanish teams to launch joint projects

Following its successful debut, NyNA became an annual event, rotating through various Spanish cities. In 2011, with the V Workshop, the format transitioned to a biannual congress, reflecting its growing scale and international impact.

Researcher

A hallmark of NyNA has been its strong support for young researchers, offering fellowships and fostering an inclusive environment for emerging talent. Over the years, the congress has earned a reputation for its scientific excellence, prestigious invited speakers, and the quality of contributions from its participants.
